Quinoa Patties

I like to keep my gluten free recipes simple and flavourful. These simple quinoa patties are so versatile. They’re a great meatless option that even meat eaters will love. Play around with your favourite vegetables and spices. Serve them warm over salads, serve them in pitas ( falafel style) with creamy sauce and greens, layer them into a sandwich with cheese or even simple drizzled with hot sauce. These are a wonderfully healthy option.

This recipe is very forgiving and versatile , so the exact measurements aren’t important. But the good thing is the short list of ingredients that are everyday items you may already have around.

Ingredients: 

2 cups cooked quinoa

3-4 tablespoons  ragi flour ( finger millet flour)

1/2 cup chopped zucchini / cucumber 

1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper / green bell pepper (capsicum) 

1 teaspoon ginger finely chopped 

1 teaspoon red chili flakes / red chili powder 

1 onion, finely chopped 

1 teaspoon chat masala 

salt to taste 

Oil for shallow fry

Method:

In a bowl mix all the ingredients mentioned above , don’t add water . If the mixture is too sticky to bind , add little more ragi flour and make patties out of the mixture. 

Heat non stick pan , add 1 tablespoon oil and shallow fry patties over low flame. Fry it till the patties are cooked properly. 

Serve hot with your choice of sauce or dips and some salads !!
