You may call it tikki / cutlet or patty is one of the most popular recipe for all ages globally. Try out this versatile paneer and peanuts tikki which is a star itself , works well on its own as a party snacks, side dish , or as main dish with chutney , hummus or labneh or it can dance well as a couple with burger buns.

You can assemble anything that is in your pantry and make a delicious tikki. You must be heard of paneer and aloo tikkis which is very famous in northern part of India. Today to mark the celebration of Navratri vrat ,I have gone ahead  and picked out some paneer and peanuts to make tikkis for my husband who never fails to keep vrat and try to avoid potato for health reason.

Try out my healthy shallow fried no onion, no garlic and of course no potato tikki which is tender , warm and incredibly toothsome. Paneer and peanut tikki with buckwheat flour (kuttu ka atta) wrapped with white sesame seeds , finely flavoured with fresh coriander , green chilies and roasted cumin powder pops up various flavours in your palate. I’m pretty much sure that you would not be able to leave this tikki after relishing it once.

Ingredients:

1 cup paneer ( cottage cheese ), grated
1/2 cup peanuts , chopped
4 tablespoons buckwheat flour ( kuttu ka atta )
1/2 bunch fresh coriander, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
Salt to taste
2 - 3 tablespoons white sesame seeds
Oil for shallow fry

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except oil. Mix it  very well.

Make small tikkis from this mixture and keep aside. In another plate , place  white sesame seeds and roll each tikkis on it .

Heat very less oil in non stick pan and shallow fry  tikkis on both sides till you get light brown colour. Always shallow fry in low flame to cook properly.

Remove from pan and serve hot with any chutney, dip or sauce .

Enjoy this Navratri vrat with this tikkis and avoid potato.

Have a happy Navratri vrat !!
